Sculptural form, ancestral inspiration, improvisation.

I build by hand, one coil at a time. Each piece carries the state of mind I was in while making it, so none of them repeat.

I'm drawn to the moment where I could ruin a piece if I keep going, and I continue anyway. Past that point of control, fear disappears and the clay decides as much as I do. The forms come from ancient vessels and from improvisation, and I leave the process visible, the layers, the shifts, the imperfections.
